photo of the day! and stuff

well i just got back from Michigan, I was there for my grandfathers funeral. It was a good trip. The lake was frozen, the wind was blowing and the snow was piling up everywhere. My grandfather left me an assortment of Lenses, film cameras, tripods, filters and tons of accessories. So I pretty much wont ever have to buy anything for photography ever again (besides film) I spent about three straight days looking through all of his pictures. And all I can say is that... I have a long way to go before I am as good as he was. Every photo he took awed me. It was just crazy the amount of detail and perfection his pictures had. It was literally face-melting. If i can scan a few photos and post them, I will.
anyways, here is the photo of the day! I caught this badass today. His name is fred.

life...

it comes and goes too fast...
Yesterday my grandfather was given 24 to 48 hours to live. Last night he sadly passed away. This man is my biggest inspiration as to why I love photography. Ever since I was a little kid I was awed by his photographs, whether it was on the cover of a book or in the junk drawer. The pure beauty of every photo he took baffled and interested me. Those days of seeing his photos and watching him shoot lit the candle inside of me. The passion he had for photography was unimaginable. It's just heart wrenching to know that the person I look up to in not just photography but life is now gone. Every time I push my finger down and hear the shutter open and close I think about him. That man IS WHY I started taking pictures. Now taking pictures has become a passion. All thanks to him. I am going to go get all the pictures he has ever taken, admire and study them, hopefully to be as good as a photographer as he was. And if I'm lucky, a good person like him...

enjoy life while you still have it...

well....

Dartmouth was fun as hell. But the first night i was there we were sledding down an almost vertical 5 story hill of solid ice. As i was going down to try and hit the ramp at the bottom (i was going like 30, bad idea) I tried to put my feet down to stear me a little. But i hit a huge chunk of ice with my foot (it was almost dark)and at the bottom of the ice mountain I got off the sled only to step in a hole and i hyper extended my ligaments and my Achilles tendon :( I ended my night by getting a ride back to the dorm in a police car. The next day i laid inside all day playing COD4, I beat the game. Why did I stay inside all day you ask? I couldn't walk, it sucks not being able to walk. Everyone looks at you funny when you're hopping around everywhere. All in all it was a good time. Shenanigans still went down, just no video... I'm off to bed, i have a long day of peeling the coating off my winch line.

Off to the frigid north!

Im leaving for Dartmouth bright and early tomorrow morning. It's gonna snow on friday so we'll have some fresh powder for some craziness on saturday and sunday. There are gonna be tons of shennanigans and snowboarding. I can't wait! Here's a little video of what went down last time i was in PA. Times the air by like 20 for the next video... Peace out till monday!
